CHRISTMAS OFFERING FOR REGIONAL MINISTRY
"Speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body's growth in building itself up in love" -- Ephesians 4:15-16
Regional Ministry knits the Church together by equipping leaders, encouraging congregations, and building relationships.
We will take our Disciples Mission Fund Christmas offering Sunday December 17 and 24.
Rather than many of us sending Christmas cards to each other within the congregation, during worship, we will be sending around a card to sign. Please donate the money you would spend on Christmas cards for the Dress a Child campaign of Tennyson Center for Children. This campaign provides a complete new clothing outfit for a child. Each outfit costs about $165, and includes shoes.
REVERSE ADVENT BAGS
Take a holiday bag from the Outreach Table and put in it one non-perishable food item each day of Advent. Bring your bag back on Christmas Eve. The items collected will be used to replenish our own Grace Cupboard and Community Ministry. Thank you for your help!
We are still collecting stuffing for the Community Ministry Christmas boxes. Please bring your stuffing contribution and put them on the table in Fellowship Hall. Thank you for all your support!
SOCKS & UNDERWEAR TREE
The tree in the entryway will be decorated with your donation of children's New Socks and Underwear items. Many children coming to Community Ministry of Southwest Denver have no underwear at all. The ministry tries to provide for each child. Personal hygiene items are also needed. Thanks again for your generosity to these needy kids!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY YES?
If you have volunteered to be a scripture reader or greeter and would like to serve in the month of December, please call or email the office and let Betty know which Sunday you would like to serve. We could really use the help, thanks!
KING SOOPERS RELOADABLE CARDS
The reloadable King Soopers cards are available for purchase during the week in the church office. On Sunday, please see Carol Steele. They are preloaded with $25.00 and are linked to the church. Each time you use the card and reload at King Soopers you help the church. You can reload the card for any amount you wish up to $500. Just reload at the check-out stand. It can be used indefinitely and for not only groceries, but pharmacy and gas. But if it has a zero balance longer than 3 months it is no longer linked to HPCC. The church receives 5% for all purchases with the card. You can buy groceries and help the church at the same time!
PRAYER REQUEST REMINDER
Please remember to mark on the back of your Friendship cards how you would like your Prayer Request handled. If there isn't a box marked, it is given to the pastor only. Prayer requests are kept on the Prayer List in the bulletin for 2 weeks, then they are removed. If you would like your request kept longer, please let us know.
WANT TO BE MORE ACTIVE IN CHURCH?
Here are a few of the ministries we need your help with:
There is also a bible study on Wednesday mornings and Sunday School on Sunday mornings before worship.
If you feel called to any of these activities or have any questions, contact Thom or Betty in the church office (303-789-3142, email@example.com).
BIRTHDAY & ANNIVERSARY LISTS
If you are not included in the birthday and anniversary lists, but would like to be, please let Betty in the church office know. The lists come out each month in the HARK. You may call or leave a note on her desk with your name, occasion, month and day.
WE'RE STILL HAVING A COOKIE SHOWER!
We need cookies for the fellowship time after church on Sunday mornings. If you would like to bring cookies, please leave them in the kitchen marked for the Fellowship Coffee. Thanks a lot!
