NEW BIBLE STUDY
Beginning at 10am on Tuesday, May 17th, a new bible study entitled "Signs" by Dr. David Jeremiah will start up. We will follow a much longer series that Dr. Jeremiah produced in 2019 about prophetic information in the Bible. The series will include study materials, and the audio we will listen to will contain great illustrations of prophetic characters like the Antichrist and fictional characters that will bring to life the End Times. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to grab one of the study guides from the resource table in the fellowship hall, then plan to join us each Tuesday morning from about 10am to noon in the meeting room east of fellowship hall. If you have to miss any of the weekly sessions, you can keep up with the study guides, which will be placed there each week. Hope to see you all there! COMMUNITY MINISTRY NEEDS For May, Denver Community Ministry needs are: canned tomato products cereal rice Thanks for your help meeting their needs! WEEK OF COMPASSION Due to the situation in Ukraine, we will continue to collect funds for this important charity. Week of Compassion helps with support for long-term recovery and creates opportunities for families to thrive after disasters. Because love remains. Please give generously to this worthy cause, and thank you for your support! BOULDER MARSHALL FIRE If you would like to help the victims of the Marshall fire, you can contribute by making your check out to HPCC and putting "Marshall Fire" or "Boulder Fire" in the "for" line. It will be sent to the region for fire victims. Thank you for your support! KING SOOPERS LOYALTY CARDS NOW DONATE TO NON-PROFIT CHARITIES Do you have a King Soopers Loyalty card? Did you know that by linking it to the church you help the church every time you buy anything at King Soopers? If you have a computer and an email address, go to www.kingsoopers.com. Hover your mouse cursor on "Save" and then click on "King Soopers Community Rewards." Scroll down and click on "Create an account". Enter your zip code and find your usual store. Enter your email address, confirm it, enter a password, enter your first and last name, enter your King Soopers Loyalty card number (do the alternate I.D. later), unclick the mailings you don't want, then click on "CREATE ACCOUNT". In the "Find Organization box" enter FT394 or "Harvey Park Christian Church". Click "Search" and now you will see Harvey Park Christian Church. Click on "Enroll" and you should see a "Success!" notice. Now click on "Account Summary", check all your data and add an "Alt.ID" if you want to. Use your phone number or any 10-digit number. You will be able to use this 10-digit number at the fuel station or for groceries instead of your physical King Soopers loyalty card. You're done enrolling. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A COMPUTER OR EMAIL ADDRESS, See Carol Steele. She can suggest a work-around solution. The church gets a percentage of all purchases that are linked to HPCC. If you know anyone who has their own King Soopers Loyalty card, let them know they can link their card online per the instructions above and link it to their favorite charity. Suggest to them it could be linked to HPCC. Thank you for your effort to sign up this way and support! WANT TO BE MORE ACTIVE IN CHURCH? Here are a few of the ministries we need your help with:
There is also a bible study on Tuesday mornings and Sunday School on Sunday mornings after worship. If you feel called to any of these activities or have any questions, contact Thom or Betty in the church office (303-789-3142, hpccdenver at gmail.com). PHOTOS NEEDED If you have any recent photos of congregational events, we can use them for this web site. If you can help out with this, please contact Kara Van Horn. Thanks! WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN THE TEAM? We need people to help us plan our ministries for the coming year. The group that does this is called the Ministry Planning Team. We will meet about once every six to eight weeks to plan and carry out the ministries of Harvey Park Christian Church. We would like to invite you to join our team! Talk with Pastor Thom for more details. WE'RE HAVING A COOKIE SHOWER AGAIN! With our return to fellowship after worship, we need cookies for the fellowship time on Sunday mornings. If you would like to bring cookies, please leave them in the kitchen marked for the Fellowship Coffee. Thanks a lot! HOSPITALITY There is a sign-up sheet on the hall bulletin board across from the office for hospitality. If you would be willing to serve the coffee and cookies after worship, please sign up. Thank you for help in this ministry. FRIENDSHIP/PRAYER REQUEST CARD REMINDER Please be sure to fill out a friendship card and put it in the offering tray. This helps the church office keep a record of our attendance. And please remember to mark on the back of your Friendship cards how you would like your Prayer Request handled. If there isn't a box marked, it is given to the pastor only. Prayer requests are kept on the Prayer List in the bulletin for 2 weeks, then they are removed. If you would like your request kept longer, please let us know. WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY YES? If you have volunteered to be a scripture reader or greeter and would like to serve in the month of January, please call or email the office and let Betty know which Sunday you would like to serve. We could really use the help, thanks! NAME TAGS If you don't have a name tag and would like one, or yours is a little the worse for wear, please put a note on your friendship card on Sunday, or you may call the office at 303-789-3142. Remember to check the list on the end of the name tag boxes to see which one yours is in. BIRTHDAY & ANNIVERSARY LISTS If you are not included in the birthday and anniversary lists, but would like to be, please let Betty in the church office know. The lists come out each month in the HARK. You may call or leave a note on her desk with your name, occasion, month and day. TIMOTHY AND PRISCILLA FUND Matthew and Taylor Smith were ministry interns who graduated from Denver Seminary. It is the time of year for us to collect contributions to the Timothy and Priscilla fund to pay tuition for the next candidate(s). If you would like to help with this, please make out your check to HPCC and designate it for Timothy & Priscilla fund, then put it in the offering tray. Thank you so much for your support of these very special people! SNOW SHOVELERS' SIGN-UP SHEET With the cold breath of winter comes that weather phenomenon again: SNOW! And believe it or not, some of it even lands on church property (*smile*). If you can take a week to be responsible for the sidewalk, courtyard and stairs snow removal, it would be greatly appreciated. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in the hall, and thanks very much for helping with this ministry! |
